Richard F. Brian
 
Richard F. Brian

a Senior Partner in the Brian Law firm, received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Western State College of Colorado Summa Cum Laude in 1979 and a Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Akron School of Law in 1982. While attending Law School, Richard interned for the City of Canton Law Department then later joined R.E. Goforth, LPA. In 1983 Richard established the firm of Brian & Brian. His interest in law became apparent after attending numerous undergraduate law courses and he states "I was most influenced by Dr. Robert McGinty at Western State College. Dr. McGinty was my Law Professor as well as my Counselor."

Richard's role at Brian Law encompasses all Workers Compensation and Social Security cases as well as overseeing a staff of Legal Assistants. He and his colleagues consider his greatest accomplishment to be the successful arguing of a case before the Ohio Supreme Court, which led to a major change in Ohio Workers Compensation Law. The outcome of this case allowed persons who were previously denied to file claims.

A native of Babenhausen, W. Germany, Richard has resided in Stark County, Ohio since 1970 and resides with his wife and two children. His interests outside of law include golf and boating.

Steven J. Brian

A partner in Brian Law Offices received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance at Kent State University and a Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Akron School of law in 1988. While attending law school Steven interned with an Akron based law firm assisting with trials and trial preparation. Brian Law Offices was formed when Steven joined his brother Richard in 1989.

Steven's role at Brian Law Offices encompasses the handling of personal injury cases and workers' compensation cases when appealed to the Courts of Common Pleas.

He is a member of the Stark County Academy of Trial Lawyers; Ohio State Bar Association; Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers; Association of Trial Lawyers of America and is admitted to practice law in all Common Pleas Courts throughout Ohio as well as Federal Court, Northern District of Ohio and the Supreme Court. Steven is married and has resided in the Stark County area since 1970.

Dawn Everett
 
Dawn Everett
has an "Associate in Applied Business in Legal Secretarial Technology" Degree, has been in her current position as Legal Assistant for numerous years. Dawn's responsibilities include assisting with Workers Compensation Claims and helping clients with Social Security Benefit Claims. Helping those in need is the primary focus of Dawns work.

Dawn lives in Tuscarawas County with her husband and son. Dawn enjoys cheering on the OSU Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns. She also enjoys playing volleyball whenever she has the chance.

Lindsay Ludwig
 
Lindsay Ludwig
is a graduate of Jackson High School and has been with Brian Law for numerous years. She assists with workers' compensation claims. Lindsay's responsibilities include answering the telephones, filing, preparing C-92 applications, and the scheduling of any required medical examinations. Her ability to be patient, helpful and a good listener makes Lindsay a valuable member of our support staff.

Lindsay enjoys working at Brian & Brian and loves learning and experiencing any opportunity that will increase her knowledge of the law in general. Seeing people appreciative of the firms end result is very gratifying for Lindsay. Lindsay is from Canton, Ohio and has been a lifetime resident of Stark County.

Dottie Preston
 
Dottie Preston
As a Legal Assistant, Dottie is responsible for aiding our attorneys in the delivery of legal services. Through formal education, training and experience, she has knowledge and expertise regarding the legal system and claims procedure. In addition to this, she provides our legal staff with administrative support. Dottie has been a legal assistant with Brian Law since December 1, 2000. Dottie resides in Tuscarawas County with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys collecting antiques, looking at classic cars, and crocheting.

Prior to her employment with Brian Law, Dottie worked in the payroll department at Alsco, Inc. Later, she was promoted to the position of the Manager's Secretary. She retired in 1965 to raise her daughters. In 1978 she resumed employment with attorney Richard E. Goforth and remained there for 22 years. With the merger of Richard E. Goforth and the Brian legal team, she became an employee of Brian Law Offices.

Dottie believes her greatest strength to be taking dictation and word processing. She loves the close interaction with our clients and is always willing to go the extra mile, making her a valuable asset to the firm.
